A Romantic High Tea in Sydney

24 January 2018

We are very pleased to announce that we will be holding a Romantic High Tea in Sydney on Saturday 5 May 2018 from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm.

We’re taking advantage of everyone being in Sydney for the annual Australian Romance Readers Awards Dinner in order to host a special event just for readers. Three of our fabulous authors will each be hosting a table at the high tea. This past week we have been revealing those authors—Avril Tremayne, Kandy Shepherd and Shannon Curtis. You can find out more about each of them below.

There will be delicious savoury morsels, luscious cakes and tarts, plus a choice of premium teas and summer punch. You may also bring books to have them signed if you wish.

Our special hosts at the high tea will be …

Avril Tremayne writes sexy, funny, modern romances, featuring strong, successful heroines who refuse to swoon, and heroes with enough alpha in them to make swooning a clear and present danger. Avril lives in Sydney and has books published with Harlequin Mills & Boon, Penguin Random House and HarperCollins. Her latest release is The Dating Game, sequel to Kiss Don’t Tell.

Kandy Shepherd writes fun, feel-good contemporary romance about princes and billionaires and the women who love them. Kandy lives in Sydney and has been published by Berkley and Harlequin Mills & Boon. She won the Australian Romance Readers Award for Favourite Contemporary Romance for both 2009 and 2010. Her latest release is Stranded with Her Greek Tycoon.

Shannon Curtis writes heart-pounding romantic suspense, sexy and funny contemporary romance and enthralling paranormal and fantasy romance. Shannon lives in Sydney and has written for Carina Press, Pan Macmillan, Harlequin MIRA and Harlequin Nocturne. She won the Australian Romance Readers Award for Favourite Paranormal Romance of 2015.Her latest release is Vampire Undone.

Cinderella competition

We are also running a special member competition for one member to win a ticket for the Australian Romance Readers Awards dinner, also being held on Saturday 5 May 2018. And if the winner is from interstate we will also pay their accommodation at The Castlereagh that night.

How do you enter?

Copy the blue paragraph below and post it on your Facebook wall or page, along with the link for this article (make sure the high tea banner also appears in your post). Be sure to link to the Australian Romance Readers Association page, so that we can register your entry. Posts must stay up on your wall until 10 February.

Here’s the paragraph to post.

I want to be Cinderella and go along to the gala awards dinner that the Australian Romance Readers Association is hosting in Sydney in May. This might just be my chance to win a ticket! https://australianromancereaders.wordpress.com/2018/01/24/a-romantic-high-tea-in-sydney/

(Don’t have a Facebook account? It is worth opening one just for this competition!)

The competition will close on 10 February and we will draw one entry randomly. The winner will be announced in the February newsletter. (Note that this competition is only open to ARRA members—readers and authors—who are current as at 22 January.)
