This is the 4th book in the One Year to Wed series, and what a wonderful romance to finish! To recap, all four daughters from Garrison Downs have only one year to wed after their father dies, to be able to inherit the station forever. A very old entail they didn’t see coming.

Rose Waverly has put family first all her life. She’s managed to see her three sisters wed since her father’s death—and they’ve all married for love, the best outcome ever. Now it’s her turn, or the station will forfeit.

And there’s only three months to go: 90 days to deadline!

The obvious thing is for her to marry someone who understands her tricky situation. She could ask one of the station hands—but she’d rather not. That might get a bit iffy, even though they’d probably be willing.

No, her plan is bigger and bolder than anything her sisters envisaged. She’s going to ask Lincoln Garrison to marry her.

Linc is the descendant of Cordelia Garrison, who originally lost Garrison Downs to Louisa May Waverly, Rose’s ancestor, in a card game. Her neighbour. The son of Clay Garrison, a harsh man who still wants ‘his’ station back and has become increasingly bitter and twisted about it as the years go by. His property, Kalku Hills, hasn’t enjoyed the success of Garrison Downs, something he resents, even as he rejects all Linc’s advice about management.

It’s a real Montague and Capulet showdown. Hatfield and McCoy. You get the idea.

Rose has thought long and hard about her decision. Linc seems a bit of a playboy but doesn’t seem cut from the same cloth as his cruel father. He seems, apart from being seen around town with gorgeous girls on his arm, like a nice man. Someone who is possibly approachable. Above all, by linking their families Rose wants this stupid feud between them over. It’s gone on far too long, and she wants to go into the future with good will.

Only thing is, she hasn’t realised Linc has always thought highly of her since childhood. There’s more. They once shared a super-hot kiss, but with the uneasy feud between their families Linc hasn’t worked out what to do with the hot attraction he feels for her.

When Rose suddenly proposes her ‘paper marriage’ to him, he says Yes! and surprises them both.

Reader, this is obviously not going to be the easiest of romances. I just settled down and waited for the drama to start. And wow, yes, it did! Thank you yet again Michelle Douglas, another terrific book.
