8 December 2012

arrc2013_webbanner_darkHere is the next one in our series about the panel sessions at ARRC2013. You can find further details on the convention, including the full program and registration links here.

This week we are talking about…

Concurrent session 1B–Meet the authors (part 1)

Discover new and new-to-you authors…

As romance readers we are forever looking for the next best book, story and character or author to expand our reading horizons. Ever wanted to be in on the ground floor when it comes to new authors?

Some of our authors are newly published or have published a few books and would like to get their work out to readers. This is a chance to meet some brand new authors or some established authors that you might not have heard of before. Each author has been allocated about 5 minutes and will tell you about themselves, their current and upcoming projects and perhaps read an excerpt from their current release (or possibly a work in progress).

These authors write in a variety of genres and should spark the interest for those who want to be able to say ‘I have been a fan since the beginning, when I heard them at ARRC2013’.

The panellists

Concurrent 1B

AB Gayle has published a variety of books, including heterosexual sci-fi romance and a travel book on wine, but she is best known for her m/m romances. Her novella, ‘Caught’ placed third in the 2011 Rainbow Awards for best contemporary gay romance. Now living in Sydney, Australia, AB Gayle sets some of her books locally, however her latest bestseller, Red+Blue, explores the wilds of Minnesota and Ontario as well as ‘gay central’ San Francisco.

Alison Stuart is the author of two historical novels set in the English Civil War, a collection of short stories and her latest release, Gather the Bones, which is a ‘Downtonesque’ ghost story set in 1923. Alison won the 2008 Eppie Award for Best Historical Romance for her novel By the Sword. Alison lives by the sea in a historic corner of Melbourne.

Annie Seaton is a romance author across three genres: contemporary, paranormal and steampunk. Annie lives in Nambucca Heads on the mid north coast of New South Wales with her ever-patient husband and two white cats and Bob the Dog who thinks he is a human.

Kate Belle is a passionate author, adequate wife and devoted mum/step-mum. She has ridden a camel through the Australian desert, fraternised with hippies in Nimbin, and lived on nothing but porridge and a carrot for three days. Her unique brand of erotic fiction will entertain, arouse and inspire.

Danielle Lisle lives in a remote location of the Northern Territory. On weekends Danielle conforms to the typical Aussie persona, that is if you think the typical Aussie sits around the BBQ with a beer in hand, while ignoring the saltwater crocodiles swimming nearby. But during the week she is transported to a place of history, intrigue and fornication. Danielle writes historicals laced in scandal, lust and desire, with no thought to propriety or what society considered ‘proper’.  Danielle believes there is something hugely gratifying about taming that wild gentleman, and is kind enough to haul her readers along for the ride.

Imogene Nix is the author of four erotic science fiction stories. The first was a finalist in the Show Me The Spark 2011 competition and has received excellent reviews. Imogene lives in Gayndah, Queensland.

Jennifer Scoullar is the author of two rural novels. Her latest, Brumby’s Run, was published by Penguin in 2012 after a pitch at the Romance Writers of Australia conference. Jennifer lives in rural Victoria.

Nicola E Sheridan is the author of the Magic Series–magic and mythology in modern romance, quirky tales of unlikely love. Nicola lives in Perth.

Sami Lee is the author of six contemporary erotic romances published by Samhain Publishing, and is about to have a seventh published by Ellora’s Cave. Sami lives in Brisbane.

Suzi Love is the author of two historical romances, one erotic and one sexy. These two are published with Crimson Romance. Suzi lives in Brisbane.

    Hi Everyone,
What a gorgeous (and numerous) line up! I’m very excited to be sharing the platform with some friends and some friends-to-be.
I’m a debut erotic fiction writer and will be celebrating the release of two titles, Breaking the Rules and Bloom, under the new Random Romance digital imprint.
I’m not sure what to talk about yet, either my strange inner relationship with my very sexy hero, Ramon Mendez, or 5 reasons why writing is like romance.
Perhaps you guys can choose? If you don’t, you’ll be leaving it up to me and then anything could happen!
    Yours in anticipation
    Kate Belle
