In the last two years, I’ve moved house several times. The moves were made easier by two wonderful women who expertly and cheerfully packed up my possessions for me. Of course, my writer’s mind started ticking over with ideas for a career for the heroine of my next story! Thus was born Kitty Clements, founder with her partner Claudia, of People Who Pack, a female-led packing service. Who knows where gorgeous reluctant billionaire Sebastian Delfont came from, but I completely fell in love with him as, of course, does Kitty! My characters often jet around the world, but as I was writing this story I knew they couldn’t do that, as none of us could. What better place for them to be confined than a wonderful old mansion that Sebastian has inherited in one of the most prestigious parts of London? Perhaps this story is a touch infused with my own longing to be back in London where my English father and my lovely stepmother lived and I spent many happy times. There’s another personal touch—Kitty’s grandfather’s story of being evacuated from London is inspired by my mother-in-law’s real-life experience.
