Author spotlight: Christine Wells

7 October 2021

In the lead-up to ARR2021 in December we will be spotlighting the authors who will be signing. In the spotlight today we have Christine Wells.

Who was the first romance author to catch your interest?

Mary Jo Putney

What do you write?

Historical romance and historical fiction

Which usually comes to you first—characters or plot (or something else)?

Characters or a great hook

Choose one of your books to turn into a movie—who would you cast in the lead roles?

Mad About the Earl. I would cast Rosamund Pike as Rosamund and Tom Burke as Griffin.

Tell us about your latest release in 100 words or less:

My latest release, Sisters of the Resistance, is about two sisters in WWII Paris who are recruited into the resistance movement by Catherine Dior, sister of the famous fashion designer, and a decorated war heroine of France.

What else are you working on in 2021?

I am working on an historical novel about the real woman who is said to have inspired Miss Moneypenny in Ian Fleming’s James Bond series. Victoire (Paddy) Bennett worked for Fleming in Naval Intelligence during WWII. I am also (slowly) writing another historical romance about the final Westruther cousin, Lord Lydgate, which will kick off a new series. Hopefully that will be out next year.
