Emma Piper has just wed the man of her dreams, or so she thought until she overhears him just after the ceremony stating he only married her for convenience. Having been brought up by her grandparents, she has led quite a sheltered existence and the love she’d hoped she’d found, is not that at all. With the help of her friend, she escapes to the villa left to her in Corfu.

Greek Billionaire Christo Karides will not allow his wife of five minutes to desert him. He does not appreciate the slight on his name, and travels to Corfu to confront Emma, only to find her changed from the meek and willing woman he married.

I adored every moment of this story. The setting painted with Ms West’s words had me dreaming of escaping to Greece and I fell in love with Christo and his carefully guarded heart.

Christo at first appears to be very standoffish with a healthy ego but as the book progresses we see exactly why he is the way he is. His insistence on looking after his stepsister’s daughter, Anthea (a step-sister he’d only ever met once) was a beautiful part of the story and had my heart aching for Christo’s younger self.

Emma’s transformation from meek to her true strength was so fun to watch as Christo found himself in unsteady waters. Just who was this woman he married and how could he possibly have missed her true personality? The sensual tension between these two had me turning pages late into the night, desperate for them to find their well-deserved happy ending.

Annie West is fast becoming one of my all-time favourite Presents authors—producing books with the perfect level of angst, passion, amazing settings and characters you can’t help but fall in love with. I have her latest book Contracted to Her Greek Enemy on my desk waiting to read and I cannot wait!
