Release day: The Dark Horizon

1 May 2020

Today is the official release of The Dark Horizon by Liz Harris (ebook and paperback, Heywood Press). Here’s the blurb:

Oxfordshire, 1919

The instant that Lily Brown and Robert Linford set eyes on each other, they fall in love. The instant that Robert’s father, Joseph, head of the family’s successful building company, sets eyes on Lily, he feels a deep distrust of her.

Convinced that his new daughter-in-law is a gold-digger, and that Robert’s feelings are a youthful infatuation he’d come to regret, Joseph resolves to do whatever it takes to rid his family of Lily. And he doesn’t care what that is.

As Robert and Lily are torn apart, the Linford family is told a lie that will have devastating consequences for years to come.

Liz dropped by today to tell us a little about this book:

The Dark Horizon, book 1 of the Linford series, a saga set between the wars, introduces readers to the Linford family. Based in London, with a weekend retreat in the Cotswolds, the family is headed by ruthless Joseph Linford, the oldest of three brothers, and chairman of a successful building business. Beneath the surface of the family simmer lies, schemes and deceit, but so, too, do love and passion. The Dark Horizon tells Lily’s story, the second in the series tells Alice’s story, and the third is Dorothy’s story.

You can find out more about this book at Liz’s website or buy it from Amazon.

Many thanks, ARRA, for sharing the news of the publication of THE DARK HORIZON. It’s always an added bonus to the enjoyment that you get when writing your novel to be absolutely forced to do some travelling for the purposes of research. As the cover indicates, my destination was New York. I loved writing the novel and getting to know the secrets of members of the Linford family, and I hope that ARRA readers will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed researching and writing it.
