This story opens with Lizzie tracking down a missing woman, but of course it is so much more than that. Lizzie, Aiden and Belle, along with Ashworth and Eli, are once again bouncing from one murder scene to another—although the bizarre state (or lack) of the bodies is confusing at first, and they have trouble working out just what they are dealing with. There are two separate killers, but somehow the cases are linked.

And then there’s the newly appointed reservation witch—who happens to be Lizzie’s cousin, Monty. Aiden still doesn’t know much about her past, so Lizzie and Belle make a deal with Monty not to talk about it. But other than that, he seems like a good guy and genuinely fond of Lizzie. He is much more powerful than Lizzie, but he’s also overconfident because of it and that’s probably going to end him up in more trouble than he can handle.

During the course of this book Lizzie finally opens up to Aiden about her past, which was a good thing, because at the moment it feels like we are just marking time until Lizzie’s past catches up with her. In this story, the evil from Lizzie’s past is finally given a name and some of the backstory is filled in, so we know there’s going to be a reckoning in her future and maybe that time is coming soon. Can’t wait for that!
