It’s in a kiss.

Matt Dalton is in business distress. He has a problem he needs an expert to resolve. Lauren Taylor is the computer expert called in to assist. He has returned to sort out the family business knowing that his father has had numerous affairs, a significant staff turnover, and has the onset of Alzheimer’s. This is making the situation worse as Matt has to find all the thing his father has done, going back several years.

Lauren Taylor is the computer nerd. She is the one to resolve the computer issues, but when she walks into Matt’s office she realises it is him. The young man who kissed her on a dark balcony many years before. At first this throws her and she appears not to be the geek to find the information in the company system. This causes Lauren to gauge all her reactions to him based on that kiss and the hope that he won’t remember, or that she wants him to remember.

After a ball when Matt kisses her for the first time (or second time if you are counting by encounters) he realises it is the girl he remembers from that night on the balcony. He then tries what he can to make sure she stays with him. He does mess up when he accuses Lauren of leaking information to the press when it was in fact another.

Adelaide is the setting for this story, and we get a glimpse of this city through the eyes of Lauren as she has returned to the place she once lived. She also stays longer with the hope that Matt will see her and not her high achieving sporty brothers. He does which makes all better for her.

This story, this relationship was one that I really enjoyed. It showcases Adelaide, it is based on a kiss remembered, family backgrounds that both had to endure but find each other.
