Feature book: Playing the Player

2 August 2017

Playing the Player by Amy Andrews

The male members of the team are falling. Falling in lust then love. The one who sleeps around the most is about to fall the hardest.

Lincoln Quinn is the man who is the real player in the Sydney Smoke. He beds women any time he can, any way he can. He then finds he needs to scratch his itch for Em but she doesn’t want to play. Lincoln’s family background means that he is gun shy when it comes to marriage and he doesn’t want to be tied down. Lincoln plays the game to get Em into bed and he is determined to learn what Em is short for. And no you won’t guess and I won’t tell you.

Em Newman is a teacher and appearances count. She has sworn off just sleeping with men but her body tells her that she should give Lincoln a try. And she is ready to jump him at her friend’s wedding. She has a love/hate relationship with herself regarding Lincoln. She doesn’t want to see him in case she jumps him, but can’t live with not seeing him. His gesture for their night out was very sweet.

There were many moments in the story when the situation between Em and Lincoln was hilarious as they try and stop touching each or jumping into bed together. I really liked the scene in the locker room when Em was trying to shoulder charge Lincoln and they end up on the mat. Okay there is much more between but you will have to read it. The pair only just make the place tidy before the team comes in for training!

This is a book that was hot and sexy on many levels. This series just gets better and better.
