ARRC2017: Booktopia, platinum sponsor

11 February 2017

booktopia_180Romance readers belong to a tight-knit community of passionate and voracious book lovers. It is through the dedicated support and loyalty of romance readers that Booktopia has grown into the largest independent online bookstore in Australia. With millions of active customers, we ship to every corner of the country—reaching customers in remote areas without access to physical bookstores or libraries.

Through our social media, blog, podcast and Youtube channels, Booktopia connects authors to their readers and strives to create an online haven for Australian book lovers.
We love people who love books, which is why we are so pleased to sponsor the 2017 Australian Romance Readers Convention. After all, no-one loves books more than romance readers!

We’ve had a pretty amazing year at Booktopia. We won the National Book Retailer of the Year for 2016 in the Australian Book Industry Awards. This was really a huge honour and something we are very proud of achieving.

We also launched our Author Royalty Club, a brand new program specifically aimed at supporting authors who promote their own books online. The Booktopia Author Royalty Club rewards authors with 7.5% royalties for every sale that results out of traffic they have driven to our website.

The new version of our blog, The Booktopian, was unveiled this past year to great success. We know that a successful online bookseller has to be more than just a shop—it must be a destination where people can go for book reviews, author interviews and the latest industry news. Since our new blog has been integrated onto the website, we have seen a fantastic response from customers.

The Booktopia Podcast has really exploded over the past twelve months, proving that if there’s one thing readers love doing more than actually reading, it’s listening to their favourite authors talking about books.

So whether you’re a romance reader and/or blogger looking to score some free books, or a romance writer curious to know more about our Author Royalty Club—don’t forget to drop by the Booktopia booth at ARRC and chat to Booktopia’s Sarah McDuling. She loves talking about books … especially books about love!

Thank you Booktopia for the chance to win tickets! This is a wonderful opportunity to meet some of my favourite romance authors. I love how community spirited you are. Being able to interact with the authors, book suppliers and other readers is what makes romance the best book community in Australia.

It is great to see, such a fantastic business, supporting the little guy. With great prices on their products, including a variety of books including awesome talented Aussie authors. Keep up the great work and well done on the ticket give away.

Oh, Booktopia, you generous souls. Warms my heart that a company is willing to give this special opportunity to two of us who otherwise couldn’t afford it. Commitment to low prices on books is also important to budgets, and is much appreciated.

I have been a long time lover of booktopia, I can never keep to a list when I browse all the lovely books at such great prices. I have a time travel romance book coming out in May, it would be a fantastic opportunity to go to the conference.

I adore Booktopia! Not only is it a convenient, cost effective way to buy my books, but it’s the one Australian retailer to truly support the romance genre, championing both its authors and readers. It feels like a real community where the romance genre is appreciated and celebrated.

We have so many awesome authors in Australia and i think its awesome that you are giving 2 readers who may not have the chance (like myself) to be able to go and meet their favourite authors and find new ones who will no doubt become their favourites! Some of my fav authors include Rachael Johns, Nicki Edwards, Lisa Ireland and Cathryn Hein just to name a few, these talented ladies write rural romance which is my favourite genre!

I also love that Aussie authors are such a huge focus for you and how much you support them to make their dreams becoming an established author a reality!

Keep up the awesome work Booktopia!

Booktopia is one of the few places in Australia where I can get paper books for a reasonable price and they have such a wide range of stock. And the free shipping offers happen regularly enough that it’s even more competitive with overseas vendors. It’s good to see a local business doing so well and doing it by looking after it’s customers. Plus, Booktopia loves romance readers for extra bonus points!
