Release day: Jax
Today is the official release of Jax by JL Perry (ebook, Hachette Australia; paperback available 29 November). Here’s the blurb:
Jax is a sexy, emotional love story by the number one bestselling author of Hooker and Bastard. JL Perry’s fans have long clamoured for Jax’s story and finally she has written it for them. Jaxson Albright grew up on Sydney’s privileged North Shore, but he never felt he belonged there, so he moved to Newtown. He’s inked, pierced and owns and runs his own tattoo parlour. Jax no longer feels like an outcast; he belongs in the hip suburb of Newtown.
Jax also knows he wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Candice, his pinked-haired angel, the girl he has been in love with since forever. They grew up in the same circles and she is as much of an outcast as he is – but Jax has never let her know how he truly feels about her. He doesn’t want to mess up their friendship but as hard as he tries, he can’t get Candice out of his damn heart. Will he find the courage to move forward and pursue love?
JL dropped by today to tell us a little about this book:
Jax is a story I never intended to write, but I’m so glad I did. He was a secondary character in Bastard and my readers hounded me for more of him, so that’s how Jax came about. It’s a best friends to lovers/second chance love story, and the most challenging book I’ve ever written. Jax and Candice have a love like no other. They’re kindred spirits, you could say, and have spent years hiding their true feelings for each other because neither one wants to ruin the friendship. But the heart wants what it wants, and no matter how hard they try to fight it, or how many obstacles they have to face on their journey, they’re destined to be together. It’s the most angst-filled romance I’ve ever written, but I adore their story so much.
