Release day: A Pawn for Malice
Today is the official release of A Pawn for Malice by Cynthia Roberts (ebook, self-published). Here’s the blurb:
Does an ex-cop ever lose his “nose” for investigating? Freshmen Senator, Bryon Gallagher, certainly hasn’t, when the love of his life, Jessica, is kidnapped by a mad man. No stone is left unturned, as he plays the role of senator by day and rogue detective by night, calling in favors and working his past snitches to the bone to find her. The only problem is, who does he focus his efforts on … her deranged, former father-in-law who lusts after her, a crazed felon hell-bent on revenging the execution of his brother put to death under the Senator’s newly passed Death Penalty Bill, or an unknown psycho, looking for his “moment of fame”?
Pawn for Malice is a thrilling and passionate love story that is a blend of crime action, suspense, and self-discovery, or one could even say, a cross between Safe Haven meets Criminal Minds.
Cynthia dropped by today to tell us a little about this book:
When I worked at the New York State Legislature for Senator Dale Volker, who sponsored the Death Penalty Bill, back in the late 70s, the concept for this book was born. I created a rough draft at that time and then, life got in the way, sending me down paths I never thought I would ever have to venture, but survived. I found the draft a short while ago for A Pawn for Malice, and could not believe how much work I had done on it, and knew it was time to bring it to life. I’m a firm believer, you can’t truly write about loss and tragedy, pain and heartache, unless you’ve lived it yourself. This book ties in all of those elements of human emotions into a thrilling, passionate, and suspenseful romance that entails, self-discovery, survival and a love that is so strong, it conquers the evil trappings of a criminal mind.
