Book-signing event in Adelaide
On Saturday 20 August romance readers headed to the Stamford Grand at Glenelg in Adelaide for ARRA’s 10th book-signing event.
With the RWA conference held in Adelaide for the first time this year, that also meant the first opportunity ARRA has had to hold an event in Adelaide. We didn’t know what to expect in terms of the number of readers we might reach. It was always possible that only a handful might turn up. But that was not the case.
In the end we had more than 70 people come along to the signing. The rooms were quite small, so it actually felt like a lot more than that. Readers and authors alike really appreciated the time to chat and enjoyed the event.
We ran our signature hunter competition again too. The winner, Crystal, was at the signing with her friend Michelle, who had also collected signatures from all the authors and the two were going to share the two bags stuffed full of books and goodies.
And of course ARRA had a stand at the conference on Sunday, which was a great opportunity to catch up with author members and also recruit new members 🙂
We also had the opportunity to go along to the cocktail party on the Friday night to check out all the costumes. Here’s a small selection:
