Feature book: Husband Sit
Husband Sit by Louise Cusack
Jill Wilson is down on her luck. She has just left a ten-year relationship because it was boring and dull. Her sister is stuck in Bangkok and needs money to get home. Jill is a person who gives up everything to help others. But she needs money fast and with no other option she turns to ‘husband sitting’. Husband sitting is women who are being paid by rich wives to keep their cheating husbands ‘happy’ at home while they skip off on vacation. Falling in love is not an option. Jill is happy to take the money she desperately needs. Jill finds that not every job is smooth sailing and that it takes all kinds of men in life but not everyone is for her. She can’t get Finn out of her mind even when she tries.
Finn has a lesbian wife, who feels guilty about her relationship, so she sets up Jill to take her place while she goes on holiday. What Finn doesn’t realise is that Jill is someone who changes his life. Once he spends time with Jill, he sees what a real relationship should be like. He makes a decision to chase Jill at all costs even when he doesn’t like her decision to continue her career path.
This story takes Jill on a journey of self-discovery that shows her who her friends really are, and she has some crazy friends. Her three friends are very different from each other but they found that they complement each other, and are there for each other when needed. She also discovers that true love will find you no matter where you hide. Husband Sit takes you on a journey that is emotional, sexy, funny and thought provoking.
