Feature book: A Vow to Secure His Legacy
A Vow to Secure His Legacy by Annie West
Imogen is going to die. She has the same condition that killed her mother. She leaves the doctor’s rooms not wanting to know how long she has left. She wants to fulfil her bucket list, and lands in Paris. In her last few days in Paris, Imogen encounters Thierry at a function. Imogen appears classy, in her sister’s dress, and gracious, and Thierry is mesmerised. She connects with Thierry, and they spend the night together. And there is a consequence of that night.
Thierry Girard is a Frenchman who is a reluctant CEO. He took the reins of the family business after his grandfather’s illness. Thierry would prefer to be rock climbing, skiing, anything adventurous than running the business. When he goes off skiing one weekend, his photo is captured hugging an attractive young woman, which later will come with consequences.
Imogen returned to Paris to let Thierry know she is pregnant. He insists upon marriage. She also tells him that she is dying and she wants their child to be protected. Of course, a man like Thierry has a wealthy background, including a family chateau and he can provide for his unexpected new family. Imogen also has to deal with Thierry’s grandmother and hope that she likes her as Thierry’s wife.
This is a really gentle romance. There is not too much misunderstanding between Thierry and Imogen as they work through the different issues, and they can do them rationally, as adults. Naturally, Imogen is not dying (not really a spoiler) so the pair can have their HEA.
