Feature book: Touched to the Core
Touched to the Core by Elsa Winckler
In this series, we meet the Cavallo men who are billionaire hotel owners. They are strong, confident and used to women throwing themselves at them. That is, until they meet the Sutherland girls and their friend … this is David and Dana’s story.
David Cavallo was once a journalist. He quit his job when his editor went for the sensationalism of the story rather than the facts. Years on, David meets Dana Roux who is a school teacher and friend to the Sutherland sisters. Dana has been investigating her father’s death. He was implicated in a Ponzi-type scheme, and after he was arrested, he killed himself. Dana wants to prove his innocence.
Once David has spoken to Dana, he decides to help her find the truth. Naturally, Dana does not listen to David, and those who do not want the truth to come out target her. David has to protect Dana both from herself and from those who want to cover up their crimes.
This story had a little more mystery. With Dana and David trying to find the truth, there are moments of tension and suspense as they try to get to the bottom of the scheme. David’s protective instincts kick in, and he finds that he has to protect Dana, sometimes from herself, and he also needs to find the key for their happiness. We also find out more about the characters from the previous stories.
