Release day: Charlotte

2 February 2016

Today is the official release of Charlotte by Virginia Taylor (South Landers, book 3) (ebook and print, Kensington). Here’s the blurb:

CharlotteA marriage most inconvenient …

After losing his first love in childbirth, Nicholas Alden knows that he must never be a father—but when he is compromised by beautiful social climber Charlotte, he is forced to be a husband. Although he believes he can keep his new wife at arm’s length, he is mistaken. She confounds and confuses him at every turn. Charlotte hopes Nick can prop up her reputation long enough to secure a suitable match for her beloved cousin. She assumes she can ask no more of her husband, who doesn’t know the truth of her scandalous parentage. If he did, all would be lost. Still, somehow, Charlotte dares to hope that her match of convenience could become something more. It is a reckless gamble, but the prize—a marriage of blazing lifelong desire—is one worth any risk…

Virginia dropped by today to tell us a little about this book:

The South Landers series is set in 1860s South Australia and although Charlotte (affectionately known as The Bodice Ripper) is the third in the series, the story is the second historical romance I wrote, way back when. The first written will be the fifth in the series. I’m saying this because the order of the South Landers stories is immaterial. Although a few of the characters might be the same, most of the events run concurrently. Whichever you read first won’t be a spoiler for the others. Nicholas Alden is a bad-boy hero, and the only one I have ever written. Will he be redeemed? Only Charlotte knows …

You can find out more about this book at Virginia’s website or buy it from Kensington.
