The CEOs Baby SurpriseThe CEO’s Baby Surprise by Helen Lacey

Mary-Jayne Preston is the black sheep of her family. She has grown up living in the coastal town of Crystal Point in Queensland and is very close to her parents, her two sisters and her brother. She is the baby of the family, but she has always been spirited, a little feisty and as honest as the day is long. She is very much loved by the community. Mary-Jayne has done a fair bit of travelling, and she has done a few things that may have caused a few problems for her parents when she was younger. She is determined to make something of herself, but she keeps getting involved with the wrong type of man, until she does something she has never done before—has a one-night stand.

Daniel Anderson is CEO of a company that runs resorts around the world. He is very close to his twin brothers, both of whom run the company with him, his father and stepmother. He stepped into the role of CEO when he was very young, after his grandfather passed away, and he has worked tirelessly to make the company what it is today. He married, and they were very happy even though they both worked so hard. They were also expecting a baby. Tragedy strikes his wife and unborn baby when both are taken from him. He throws himself into his work, has the occasional one-night stand, but has a very good relationship with his grandmother.

It is lovely being back in Crystal Point and catching up with characters from past stories. I do love revisiting places and people in books, and I have always had a soft spot for Mary-Jayne or MJ as she is known to most people. She is very free spirited or she thinks she is. Mary-Jayne is at the Sandwhisper Resort, Port Douglas, helping out a friend, when she has the one-night stand. It is with no other than CEO Daniel Anderson, but there is no denying the sparks that had happened when they first met. Daniel had done everything to get MJ to go on a date with him, and then at the birthday party for Daniel’s grandmother, neither can help themselves.

Weeks later Mary-Jayne discovers that she is pregnant, and she must let Daniel know, but Daniel has been through so much in his life and has a hard time believing her at first. When he realises the truth, he is determined to be a part of this baby’s life. Of course MJ is so strong-willed that this starts an up-and-down journey to a HEA with both Mary-Jayne and Daniel learning a lot about themselves and each other. When they both realise that they love each other, you will be smiling. This is a great story with a beautiful setting with a fantastic hero and heroine. I highly recommend this story.
