Rebel's BargainRebel’s Bargain by Annie West

Poppy Graham has led a life with a loving mother who was very much in love with her not-so-good husband. He was abusive and a drunk. Poppy swore that she would never come to depend on anyone, especially a man, so she worked hard to become a top model so that she could fend for herself. But when she meets Orsino Chatsfield, the passion is strong and after a short time they marry in a registry office. But their time together, although passionate and sensual, is not open and honest and their marriage ends badly with a lot of distrust.

Orsino Chatsfield is a daredevil. He is son to the owner of the famous Chatsfield Hotels and has not been close to his father after his Italian mother walked out on them when he was young. He is always doing something dangerous—climbing mountains and chasing an adrenaline rush—but Poppy sweeps him of his feet. Lust is strong and their marriage is quick with lots of paparazzi involved, but still Orsino finds it hard to stay close to Poppy instead of chasing his joy of danger and leaves Poppy alone to her career.

When Poppy loses her beloved mother, Orsino has no idea how to help her through her grief. Poppy turns from Orsino, although their marriage is hot and sensual. They really have never opened up to each other and talked. When Orsino finds Poppy in an awkward situation he walks away and will not listen to anything she has to say, so they go their separate ways. Orsino does more dangerous activities while raising money for charities and Poppy becomes one of the best models. Five years later Orsino is badly injured in an avalanche and the only person he wants to help him recover is his wife Poppy.

Poppy arrives at the hospital shocked to discover Orsino hurt and wonders why he wants her of all people to help him, but she agrees. He joins her at a beautiful chateau in France where she is working on a jewellery shoot and is wearing the most gorgeous jewellery and clothes. She senses the electricity instantly and Orsino feels it as well. He is sure that if they rekindle their passion for a short time he will get her out of his system.

This is a sizzling, passionate and emotional journey with both Poppy and Orsino finally opening up to each other and listening while they enjoy a very hot affair. Orsino lets Poppy into his life and shares some of the joys that have kept him going during the past five years as Poppy too opens up about her life growing up and the reasons she spurned him when she really needed him. The setting is just awesome. The balloon flight is beautiful as are the jewellery and dresses. I loved this one from start to finish. Ms West knows how to write a story that you will not want to put down. Don’t miss this one.
