This week we are talking about…

Concurrent session 5B—Rockin’ our world

Hot, sensitive and unyielding, rockstars are the wild men (and women) of the contemporary romance scene. For many people their first object of adoration was long haired guy with the mic belting out stories of love, lust, and heartbreak, or the silent and mysterious type strumming his bass. It’s no surprise that rock stars have become such a popular addition to romance readers shelves.

Rockstars can rock a stage, and the readers! Join Lexxie Couper, Nalini Singh, Kylie Scott and Eden Summers as they share their entry point into the rock lifestyle, sources of inspiration, and how they turn a character’s band into a family unit to spawn multiple storylines. What’s next in their series, who do they love reading, and what rock star they would like to rock their world?

The panellists

CS5bEden Summers was first published in October 2012. Since then she has released nine contemporary erotic romance titles from Etopia Press, Escape Publishing and Samhain, with her most popular novels being self-published. Eden lives in Wagga Wagga, NSW.

Kylie Scott is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author. She was voted Favourite Romance Author of the Year, 2013, by the Australian Romance Readers Association and her books have so far been translated into five different languages. She is a long-time fan of romance, rock music, and B-grade horror films. Based in Queensland with her two children and one delightful husband, she reads, writes and never dithers around on the internet.

Lexxie Couper is the author of way too many erotic romance books to count. She’s won awards, been nominated for awards and has released books in every sub-genre you can imagine. Lexxie lives in Lake Macquarie, which most of Australia calls Newcastle.

New York Times bestselling author of the Psy-Changeling and Guild Hunter series, as well as the new Rock Kiss series, Nalini Singh is passionate about writing. Though she’s traveled as far afield as the deserts of China, the Highlands of Scotland, and the temples of Japan, it is the journey of the imagination that fascinates her most. She’s beyond delighted to be able to follow her dream as a writer. Nalini lives and works in New Zealand.
