Feature book: The Tycoon and the Wedding Planner
Kate Parker grew up in the little coastal town of Dolphin Bay on the New South Wales south coast. She had gone off to university but also had done some travelling in a dance group. She has been back for five years now and is manager at the Hotel Harbourside and loves her job. She is such a bubbly happy person who is always willing to help and is also good at knowing what is going on in the town. But Kate has a secret and has not left the town for five years. She is also very wary of good-looking men after what has happened to her.
Kate is planning the wedding of her boss and very much enjoying it. She is also aware of the locals feeling a bit sorry for her after having a crush on Jesse Morgan and that not working out. She is not sure she will ever find Mr Right but she is determined to get over it and plan the best wedding ever for Ben and Sandy.
Sam Lancaster has just arrived in Dolphin Bay to discuss business with Ben Morgan, a very good friend of his and he is also attending the wedding. He is tall and very handsome but is not fussed on weddings, after his fiancé broke their engagement just days before their wedding stating that Sam was only interested in his job running the family construction company started by his grandfather. His father was very strict and taught Sam from an early age to be honest and hardworking and he has never had much love from his mother. He is also under a lot of stress at the moment regarding what to do with the company. He is starting to feel like he now understands what his ex-fiancé had said years before.
When Sam and Kate see each other in the restaurant the sparks fly instantly. It is like love at first sight but both of them have issues that will hamper them. This is such a heart-warming and moving story. They both grow closer with the many interactions in their daily lives, especially with the discussions on the construction of the new hotel that Kate will manage, and with the wedding planning now that Sam is going to be Kate’s partner as groomsman. But Sam has a rule about no fraternising with clients, and Kate has asked him to help with a small construction. The pull to be together is so strong, but there is so much to overcome.
Sam is just the person the help Kate with her problems. He is caring and finally gets her to talk about her problems and Kate is so good helping Sam with his problems and their love is strong. With so much going on in the company they need to put everything on hold. But he loves his life in the city and travelling and Kate cannot get herself to leave Dolphin Bay. It is like she lives in a dome but when she gets help and she gets out of the town and actually on a plane to Singapore to visit one of the hotels she has researched on the internet, the proposal is so good and neither one of them can deny their love any longer. This story will have you grabbing tissues and cheering them on. I loved it.
