Release day: The Rapunzel Dilemma

27 August 2014

Today is the official release of The Rapunzel Dilemma by Jennifer Kloester (trade paperback and ebook, Penguin). Here’s the blurb:

The Rapunzel DilemmaA love of theatre.

A drama competition.

A once-in-a-lifetime chance . . .

Lily’s had a charmed life so far, and now she’s off to London to pursue her dream of becoming a great actor. But the London Drama Academy is full of surprises – and for the first time, Lily finds that things don’t always go her way.

It’s not just the other students who are making life difficult. Lily’s got a secret she’s not sure how to handle, but she finds that a room in one of the Academy’s deserted towers makes a perfect refuge. Lily can’t stay locked in the tower forever, though. And when she meets the mysterious Ronan Carver, everything starts to change . . .

A fast-paced and fun modern fairytale and companion novel to The Cinderella Moment, from YA author Jennifer Kloester.

Jennifer dropped by today to tell us a little about this book:

I had great fun writing The Rapunzel Dilemma. Finding ways to include the essential iconic fairytale elements made it really adventurous and my heroine Lily ended up in all sorts of unexpected places! This is the second book in my Fairytales with a Twist YA trilogy. It’s set in London at the (fictional) London Drama Academy and I was lucky enough to have my cousin–a professional stage actor–share with me all sorts of fascinating stories and experiences from his time at Royal Central, one of London’s top drama schools. Having that level of insight really helped me to create a school and teachers who felt totally real to me.

You can find out more about this book on Jennifer’s website or from Penguin Teen Australia.
