Release day: The Winter Bride

1 April 2014

Today is the official release of The Winter Bride by Anne Gracie (mass market paperback, trade paperback, ebook and audio book, Penguin Australia). Here’s the blurb:

The Winter BrideTwo marriage-averse people…

Freddy: He wasn’t contemplating marriage, dammit! Not with anything other than horror.

Damaris: “I have an abhorrence of marriage.” There was a short, shocked silence.

To get his parents and marriage-minded muffins off his back, Freddy pays Damaris to enter into a false engagement. It all goes swimmingly, at first, but fights and floods and secrets and complications—and falling in love—were never in the plan …

Anne dropped by today to tell us a little about this book:

I loved writing this book. Freddy is funny and charming, a lighthearted bad-boy rake. He calls Pride and Prejudice a horror story—it’s all about girls finding husbands, you see—and he’s pursued by “muffins”— i.e. marriage-minded women. But he slowly reveals himself to be “an utterly to-die-for hero” (Mary Jo Putney). Damaris is serious and quiet, and the secrets of her past make her vulnerable, but underneath her cool exterior she’s something special—watch her stand up to Freddy’s b*tch of a mother, and I think you’ll love her as much as I do.

You can find out more about this book at Anne’s website and buy it at Booktopia.

All ARRA members who leave a comment will go in the draw to win a copy of this book. The giveaway closes on 22 April 2014. (The winner was Barbara)

Congratulations and well wishes to Anne for the release of the Winter Bride. Really looking forward to reading further with this enjoyable series. Damaris and Freddy sound like they will have interesting times ahead in their “pretend” relationship. Kenn to also find out about what is happening with other loved characters from the Autumn Bride.

Thank you, Yvonne. There’s a lot of “pretend” going on in this books. One small fib and… it grows. LOL I hope you enjoy Freddy and Damaris’s story.
