Release day: The Blood She Betrayed

6 September 2013

Today is the official release of The Blood She Betrayed by Cheryse Durrant (a Heart Hunters novel) (ebook, Clan Destine Press, with paperback due in October). Here’s the blurb:

The Blood She BetrayedTo save her kingdom, she must betray her blood…

Thrust into the technology-driven Earthlands via magical mists, Shahkara is forced to rely on Max McCalden to help find the ancient Elnara death lantern, her homeworld’s last chance of survival against the heart-devouring Taloners.

Max has his own problems – a manipulative billionaire father, a murdered brother – but nothing prepares him for this fugitive warrior’s razor-sharp talons and magical abilities.

Shahkara’s half-Taloner blood demands what she knows she can’t have – a human heart. She longs for love, but as deadly enemies attack at every turn, will her lust for Max destroy them both? Or will she find the strength to free both worlds from a threat more horrific than the demons that share her blood?

Cheryse dropped by today to tell us a little about this book:

Taloners may eat your heart, but a human can steal it … I love writing paranormal romance because an edge of danger exacerbates the emotional tension between hero and heroine. Max and Shahkara face incredible odds and yet the love they feel for one another is still stronger than any impending apocalypse. These characters are heroes so naturally they’re willing to die for each other, or to save their world. That heroism makes their happily ever after far more satisfying … and delicious. Move over vampires … Taloners are the new sexy.

You can find out more about this book at Cheryse’s website or buy the ebook (or preorder the paperback) from Clan Destine Press, Amazon, iTurnes or Kobo. The Blood She Betrayed will be available in paperback from all good bookstores from next month (October).

All ARRA members who leave a comment on this post will go in the draw to win a paperback copy of the book. The giveaway will close on 20 September 2013. (The giveaway is now closed. The winner was Helen.)

Gui, it’s wonderful to have had your support since late last year and I do hope you enjoy ‘The Blood She Betrayed’. Laree, my convoluted mind is refusing to lend out any of the weapons stored in the dusty recesses of my imagination so we might have to go op-shopping. The sword on the cover is longer than Shahkara’s, but the artwork was way too fabulous to change  Jason, there will be a physical launch for ‘The Blood She Betrayed’ at the Bundaberg Library next month so hopefully I can sign a copy for you there. Laree and Sue-Ellen, it’s been fabulous to share my journey with you both and I can’t wait ‘til we’re sipping champers at the Bundy book launch (as opposed to cyber cocktails at last Friday’s eBook launch!)

Brenda and Louise, please let me know what you think of my novel once you read it, and Jacky, I feel blessed to have added you to my circle of friends – especially as you’re an amazing artist!
