Publisher pitch: Steam eReads, May 2013

22 April 2013

Steam eReads_220Steam eReads is an Australian-owned boutique online publishing house specialising in romantic fiction. We launched on 1 March 2013 and May will see us publish three wonderful new titles, one of which is our first Short n Sweet novella. We have also recently put out a call for our MM/FF category where both short and long manuscripts will be considered.

The deadline is looming for our ‘Some Like it Hot’ romance fiction competition, with the closing date being 31 May 2013. The competition calls for 50,000+ word unpublished romance manuscripts, with prizes totalling $3,000 and including a publishing contract. In May we introduce three new authors to the Steam family. Their books include a romantic suspense novel, a contemporary romance novel and a Short n Sweet novella.

Money for BloodMoney for Blood by Darry Fraser

When Joseph McInerney returns with his millions to his childhood home on Australis Island, he hopes to capture something of the simple days of his youth. What he doesn’t bank on is his dysfunctional family, his friendly grocer, the publican or the hostile population of his hometown having their say when he finds the love of his life, the fearless but prickly Cloudy Bannon. The island is then hit by a series of murders and Joseph is about to find out that all the money in the world can’t always get you what you want, especially not the woman you love.

Finding Billie by Priscilla Brown

Billie Williams belongs to a rare breed – she’s a female mechanic. Though happy with her life, she is not as independent as she believes and in her heart she knows something is missing. When Zac Jarvis walks into her garage, they are shocked to meet by chance eighteen years after the abrupt end to their teenage friendship. Zac is a man trying to cope with a tragedy. Dare she risk loving someone with so much baggage? Can he learn to love again?

Ellies GentlemanEllie’s Gentleman by Georgiana Louis

Ellie Sommers is twenty years old, beautiful, lively and intelligent. She has finally returned to her family home after another long London season. She wants nothing more than to stay in her beloved country town and ride her horses. Enter Robert Blakely, a widower and a true gentleman. He has come to spend Christmas with his long-time friend William, Ellie’s father. Robert has no wish to marry again and is shocked to discover his own interest in the beautiful daughter of his friend. The only problem is that he is twice her age and a widower who has convinced himself he will never marry again.
