ARRC2013: book-signing event

12 April 2013

On Saturday 2 March the Australian Romance Readers Association held another of their epic book-signing events, as part of ARRC2013 in Brisbane.

With 66 authors signing and over 200 avid fans, the room was soon packed. In addition to our three keynote speakers–Kristan Higgins, Rachel Vincent and Annie Gracie–we had international visitors Nalini Singh, Hope Tarr and Cathy Maxwell signing. Add to that all our local favourite authors and it really was a special opportunity for romance readers.

We had a lot of authors signing at one of our events for the first time, and they really pulled out all the stops. There were pens, buttons, badges, stickers, lollipops, chocolates, postcards, bookmarks, magnets–and one author even had a tray of gorgeous little cupcakes, decorated with the cover of her latest release. Between all the wonderful giveaway items and the stacks of free books, the readers were truly spoilt for choice.

Signing bookletWe have one of our souvenir signing booklets–signed by all the authors attending–up for grabs. Just let us know in the comments why you couldn’t make it to the convention, and which of the attending authors you would most like to have met. We will draw the winner randomly. (Competition is open to ARRA members only.) The competition will close on 3 May. UPDATE: the giveaway has now been drawn – congratulations to Bek.

Many thanks to Romance Writers of Australia who sponsored the event.

I didn’t make it cause i live 2 states away in Victoria and didn’t have the money for a trip. Authors i would have most like to meet would have been Jeaniene Frost, Amber Kell but also these ones would have been great too Carrie Ryan, Kelley Armstrong, Maya Banks, Nina Bangs and lots more 🙂

I would have loved to go but couldn’t afford to go and would love to see everyone. I don’t know many of the authors on it but really want to meet Cathy Maxwell. Thanks and have a great spring.

I didn’t make it to the convention because I’m poor, obviously.
