Author spotlight: Bronwyn Parry

22 February 2013

Bronwyn ParryBronwyn Parry is the author of three romantic thrillers, set in outback NSW. Her second novel, Dark Country, was voted ARRA’s Favourite Romantic Suspense in 2010, and her third novel, Dead Heat, is a finalist in this year’s awards. Bronwyn lives on 100 acres of beautiful bushland in the New England tablelands.

Welcome Bronwyn to our spotlight …

Have you attended one of ARRA’s events before?

I’ve been to both the ARRA conventions so far and they have been fantastic events. I love the energy, enthusiasm and friendliness of romance readers and the wonderful buzz about books, characters and their stories–it’s great to be in an environment of people who share a passion for character-focused uplifting fiction!

What are you most looking forward to at ARRC2013?

Catching up with friends, meeting new readers and discovering great books!

Tell us about your latest book…

Dead Heat features a female National Park ranger, Jo Lockwood, who loves being alone in the wilderness–until she stumbles across a murder victim. Former undercover cop Nick Matheson is trying to return to ‘normal’ life and normal duties, but the body Jo finds is just the start of a string of crimes that put Jo at great risk, and bring Nick’s past and present crashing together.

What do you have coming up next?

I’m currently working on Darkening Skies, the third book in the loosely-linked Dungirri trilogy. It’s something of a challenging book to write, and life has had a few difficulties this past year, but it’s great to be returning to my fictional town of Dungirri again and telling Mark’s story.

Keep an eye out for Bronwyn’s books:

Jenn, we’ll miss you this year, too – but you’ve got your book to celebrate! Yay you! Helene, I’m hanging out for my new book, too 🙂 But I am giving Mark quite a tough time – just as well he’s strong enough to endure it! See you in a week! Suzanne, it’s a great title, isn’t it? I have to credit my publisher with it – we did a lot of brainstorming but she came up with that one (having rejected my suggestion of 50 Shades of Darkness – I don’t know why 😉 ) Elaine, so lovely to hear that you’ve enjoyed my books – and love it that you’re exploring now you have the time to. There’s so many great places on top of and west of the dividing range – happy travels!

Loved your books. I love reading about the Australian Bush. I’m trying to visit more places West of Sydney now I’m retired.
