Author spotlight: Jennifer Brassel

30 November 2012

Jennifer Brassel aka JA Lesley is author of both romance and YA novels. A recent winner of the LERA Rebecca for her ancient Egyptian historical, Her Warrior, she lives in Sydney with her TV presenter husband and a very demanding bichon called Cordy.

Welcome Jennifer to our spotlight …

Have you attended on of ARRA events before?

I’ve been to both ARRCs to date and can say they’re the most enjoyable writing events I’ve attended. I also try to get to the Sydney lunches when possible–ARRA members are great company and remind me why I sit up at two in the morning agonising over when my hero and heroine should kiss!

What are you most looking forward to at ARRC2013?

Catching up with all the friends I’ve made at past ARRCs and looking forward to making new ones. The feedback and energy a writer gets from meeting readers is truly inspiring.

Tell us about your latest book…

I have to admit it is a bit of a secret … I’m involved in a special project that will be announced very soon. So watch this space, as they say.

What do you have coming up next?

I am looking at e-publishing several award-winning manuscripts that are yet to be picked up by traditional publishers. This includes two time slip/time travel romances: An Echo in Time, set in contemporary Boston and ancient Egypt, and Secret Reflection, a Canterville Ghost type of story set in modern England with a sexy Victorian hero. I’m hoping to have them ready for ARRC or just after.

Keep an eye out for Jennifer’s books:

If you are an ARRA member or registered for ARRC2013, check out the member’s loop or ARRC Lounge loop for details of our Author Spotlight competition.
