2011 Awards: winners announcement #3

11 February 2012

Thank you to Paula Roe for her entertaining speech this evening.

We didn’t think anything could top the wonderful main course served here this evening, but we’ve just had dessert and it was better! Warm sticky date pudding with fine butterscotch sauce, whipped cream and vanilla ice cream OR Passionfruit meringue tart served on wild raspberry couli, with Chantilly cream and lemon gelato.

And now, what you’ve been waiting for – the final announcements:

The Favourite Romantic Suspense of 2011 is Shattered Sky by Helene Young. Thank you to Penguin Books Australia for sponsoring this award. Presenting the award to Helene on behalf of Penguin was Carol George.

The Favourite Continuing Romance Series of 2011 is the Psy/Changeling series by Nalini Singh. As there was no sponsor for this award, a member of the audience was chosen to present this award. Presenting the award was Brooke Moody. At Nalini’s request Allison Rogers accepted this award on her behalf.

The Favourite Australian Romance Author of 2011 is Anna Campbell. Thank you to Booktopia for sponsoring this award. Presenting the award on behalf of Booktopia were Tania Johnson and Kate Cuthbert, with Anna Valdinger from HarperCollins Australia accepting on Anna Campbell’s behalf.

There you have it – all the winners for the 2011 awards. Thank you once again to our generous sponsors and congratulations to all the winners!

We still have to announce the winners of the Bling Off and the Member of the Year before we wrap up the evening. You will find details of these in the next newsletter, due out on 15 February.

Last chance for ARRA members to leave comments to go in the draw for the prize packs. We will accept comments up to 11.00 pm.

Thank you so much, ARRA and all the sponsors and everyone who voted for me. I’m absolutely overwhelmed here – quite emotional actually. Might be a good thing I WASN’T there! Where’s a tissue when you need one? I honestly can’t tell you what it means to me to have Aussie readers express their appreciation for my stories this way. My gratitude is beyond words. THANK YOU!!!!!
