Music to read / work by

4 October 2008

Going a little off topic today to pose the question, do you listen to music while reading or working? Lets call it music to read by. I love listening to music and love listening to music while reading, but they have to be cds I’ve listened to dozens of times. Music fills in the white noise, taking away the noises of life going on around me while I venture into another place through reading a story.

My personal favourite reading soundtracks are:

Mario Frangoulis – album – Sometimes I Dream

Steven Curtis Chapman – album – All Things New

and a weird one but I love the quality of the voices is an album commissioned to accompany the display of the Dead Sea Scrolls while at the Museum of Victoria.

album – Music of the Dead Sea Scrolls

Suzanne Brockman shares on her website that each of her books has a ‘soundtrack album, something that she listened a lot while writing her various books
